You have the ability to help your little kids with their big feelings.

This course is for you if:

You want to be a gentle, conscious, and intentional parent but you aren’t sure how to start or feel skeptical about if this type of parenting really works!

You are trying to parent differently than you were raised, but don’t know where to start.

You want to understand what behaviour is normal for your kids ages 0-5.

You want to understand WHY your child behaves the way they do.

You are unsure of how to respond to your child when they are hitting, biting, yelling, or engaging in other behaviours that can feel really challenging!

You have a baby and want to plan ahead so that you can proactively parent your child!

Feel confident in your parenting.

Understand your child’s feelings and behaviour.

Connect with your child on a deeper level.

Parent in a way that feels good.

There are many parenting courses out there. This course is different.

I won’t promise you “no more meltdowns” or “no more behaviour,” because the research tells us this isn’t possible or effective. I won’t teach you “quick fixes” that don’t work in the long term, and that set you up for feeling guilty and ashamed of your parenting.

Instead this course will help you:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of your child’s meltdowns, behaviours, and feelings.
  • Work through your own triggers and childhood experiences.
  • Know how to navigate the moments of chaos, and bring more calm into your home.
  • Parent from a place that is rooted in unconditional love for your child.
  • Learn the 5 C’s to navigating big behaviours and big feelings in little kids.

Start parenting in a way that feels good today.

Q & A: Common Questions Answered!

Hey friend! I’m Jess.

I am a mother, wife, registered psychotherapist, and I run Our Mama Village.

As an undergrad student, I studied Adult Development, Families and Well-being. It became clear to me early on that I would spend my life dedicated to working with parents and families. I completed a master’s degree and thousands of clinical hours supporting parents and their children. I worked in family homes one-on-one with parents, showing them new ways they could help their kiddos and restore peace. I also worked with hundreds of parents through groups, presentations, and one-on-one clinical sessions.

I’ve seen the struggles families face, and know the realities of parenting children with BIG feelings. I know how confusing, frustrating, and sad it can feel when you don’t know how to respond to your child. The tools I teach are practical, research-based, and effective in supporting your child’s emotional health and calming challenging behaviour.

The information I will teach you in this course is a collection of all that I have been training to families for years.

You don’t have to feel alone in helping your kids with their big feelings anymore. This course will be your guide. I’m here. I am ready to teach you these tools, so that you can change your home.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am so lost on how to respond to my child’s behaviour. Will this help me?
You are in the right place. This course will teach you very practical ways to not only know how to respond to your child’s behaviour, but will teach you how to understand why the behaviour is happening so that you can truly create lasting change with your child.
I have an infant at home. Will this course be helpful for me?
Yes!! In this course I teach you how to understand your infant’s behaviour, why their crying is important, how to create a “yes” space, and how to respond when your infant has big feelings! The tools taught throughout the course will help you learn how to set the stage for success for your infant as they enter toddlerhood, and will help you parent proactively instead of reactively!
I’m pretty skeptical about the idea of “gentle” or “conscious” parenting. Is this course going to be permissive parenting where I just let my kids get away with everything?
I love this question! The quick answer is: This is NOT permissive parenting. It is important to clarify that the style of parenting taught in this course stems from a place of unconditional love and as a part of unconditional love we believe in teaching children that they are also responsible for their behaviour. This course will teach you how to implement this in a way that connects you with your child and truly helps them learn new ways of behaving.
I’m trying to parent different than my parents did, but don’t know where to start. Will this course help?
First of all, this is amazing! I love seeing cycle-breakers and recognize how hard this can be. Throughout the course we talk about how to parent through your own triggers and give you practical ways to understand your child’s behaviour and big feelings. This course gives you a framework for a new way to parent and also will help you identify what you value as a parent!
Do you guarantee that I will see results from this course?
There is no guarantee for success in parenting. This isn’t the best salesy response, I know. The information taught in this course has been helpful for thousands of families and is shown in the research to be effective. However, (I say this with love), I can give you all the tools in the world, but it is up to you to implement them in a way that makes sense for your family.
